This is a beautiful four-bedroom Victorian detached house of substantial proportions, a cellar, vast mature garden and several outhouses and sheds. It was pretty much untouched since 1951 so when the client took possession of it, she could straightaway see its potential. An extension was designed which was very sympathetic to the original house with its matching brickwork. It was a flat roof extension with a glass lantern set into brick parapet walls.
More recently, the barn was also converted into studio and gallery for making pottery. See Artist’s studio in Richmond barn.
